Their first interaction was casual, but they reconnected at a young adults dinner at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church. What started as friendship slowly developed into something much deeper over time.

John Mark first invited Anna to dinner as friends, but when he later asked her on a date, Anna declined. At the time, she felt they were in different seasons of life. John Mark respected her decision, and instead of walking away, he invested in friendship.

For the next two years, they remained close friends, spending time at CrossFit, walking, and staying connected through church.

In 2022, after watching Top Gun together, John Mark asked Anna out again. She hesitated, unsure of risking their friendship. During a season of reflection, Anna realized John Mark embodied the qualities she valued most in a future spouse.

After John Mark returned from a mission trip with Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, Anna shared her heart over dinner. Soon after, they officially began dating.

Two years later, on their anniversary, John Mark proposed, and Anna said yes.
