There’s something about Smith Lake that already feels a little magical. Add in a surprise proposal, candles flickering by the water, and a bottle of Veuve Clicquot on ice, and it becomes the kind of moment you wish you could bottle up forever.

Bryce and Meghan’s engagement was exactly that.

A Tradition Turned into a Surprise

Every year, Bryce hosts a Master’s party at his parents’ lake house on Smith Lake. It’s a tradition with friends, family, and a full weekend of memories. This year, though, Bryce had a completely different plan in mind.

While everyone thought they were just gathering for the usual celebration, Bryce was quietly setting up something unforgettable for Meghan.

Tucked beside the lake was a scene that honestly felt straight out of a movie.

Florals lined the space. Petals led the way. Candles were placed perfectly to glow as the sun started to dip. And waiting nearby was a chilled bottle of Veuve Clicquot, ready for the moment she said yes.

It was intimate, thoughtful, and completely Meghan.

Bryce led Meghan down to the water, and as everything started to click into place, you could see it on her face. That mix of surprise, emotion, and realization that something big was happening.

And then he asked.

And of course, she said yes.

As if the moment itself wasn’t enough, Meghan turned around to realize that all of their favorite people had been watching from the lake house the entire time.

What started as a quiet, romantic proposal instantly turned into a full-on celebration. Cheers, hugs, champagne popping, and the kind of joy you can’t fake.
